A tree frog decided to hang out with us for a while. It looks as though, instead of hanging out, he is hanging on for dear life!
It fell out the umbrella when my husband opened it. I was glad to get a few pictures, he didn’t seem too bothered by it.
A few hours later he/she was off to better adventures and hasn’t been seen since. I hope we meet again some day.
His one front hand seems to have a bit of deformity. My husband has noticed bees and flies with odd growths this summer. I wonder what is going on.

What a pretty pattern. All the tree frogs I’ve seen tend to be monotone. When I enlarged your pic, I looks like maybe his finger is just awkwardly tucked under his/her hand. I hope that’s the case.
Bunny and I have been commenting that we have seen very few toads here in our neck of the woods (desert actually). We were similarly wondering what’s going on. Most summers they are so thick that people tend to run a lot of them over in the road. I’ve seen two alive this summer, and only one casualty. And we’re talking huge toads around here called Colorado River toads that get as big as grapefruit, so they are pretty hard to miss when you are looking for them, and I’ve been looking.
Any way, awesome looking frog and great pics. I do love me some frogs and toads.
I enlarged the photo and I think you are right. I hope it didn’t happen when he fell out of our umbrella.
I can’t imagine so many toads that people run over them. Just the thought send shivers up my arms. A toad the size of a grapefruit! I have never seen anything even close to that size here. I don’t know how I would react to it. But it sure would make a great pic!
The fact you have seen so few worries me. That goes the same for bats and bees the past few years. I have seen a few bats recently and many bees this summer.
I’m glad you liked the pictures. I do try to get critters every now and then.
Hope you and Bunny are doing well. I might be scarce the next few weeks. Things could change, you never know these days.
Oh, even though I am probably more like the broad in the video, I laughed so hard at the video you posted. Was it ‘Storm’? The chick with the tattoo.
I could relate. How many times have I wished I was the guy ranting on the table! I would never…but in my mind….
I don’t think your frog was hurt, just doing a little finger yoga.
This will give you some idea of the size of these monster toads:

I was with the guy for most of his rant until he started talking about medication. I was with Storm then. She and I were eye to eye at that moment.
That is one big toad, Peter! I have to say I am glad I don’t see them in our part of the woods.
I’m sure your little green friend is glad too. They will eat anything they can fit in their mouths. Anything!
