Low Maintenance Gardening.

That is why I love our rock garden. It is filling in nicely. All we have to do is pull a weed here and there.

Before Mom moved in my idea of a flower garden was a plot of Hosta plants.  With the food garden there wasn’t much time for flowers. I didn’t want to plant something that I wouldn’t have time to maintain.

Rock gardens are a great alternative for the someone who has little experience, kills anything that has petals, or who has no time.

Things are a Rockin’

…in the rock garden and it’s music to my eyes!

These are sprouting up from the one we call the ‘log garden.’

This garden wasn’t really a garden. It was packed with wild tiger lilies. I have them here and there all over my property. But this one was so overgrown it wasn’t even pleasant to look at anymore. I tried mowing them down, tried clearing space between them. They just kept coming back! This year meant all out war! I swear there are a thousand bulbs in this space! But we are winning.

Mom has already called dibs on it. So, it’s hers to do with what she wants.

We’ll keep you updated.
